2008 Adelaide International Regatta
The Adelaide International Regatta was again a very successful event over the March long weekend at Adelaide Sailing Club. 23 Optimists competed and participated in the coaching with Rob Brewer.
Due to the lack of wind during the record breaking heat-wave, only one race was completed on the second day but four races were completed on the last day to a total of 5 races. The sea breeze that eventually arrived for the last 2 races enabled sailors to finish the series in perfect conditions. The Optimist division was won by Shelley White on equal points with Lloyd Collings. Sam Blackburn was third although he won 2 of the five races and James Brewer fourth. Paris Stowell was impressive at fifth place. Seven sailors from SA (not members of AOST) joined in the fleet, with some of them sailing Optimists for the first time.
