New for next season is a series of events at different metropolitan sailing clubs. The intention is to bring the whole SA fleet together several times during the season for greater competition and enjoyment. We are fortunate to be able to sail at Largs Bay Sailing Club, Port River Sailing Club and Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club next season. This new initiative is in addition to the established Adelaide International Regatta at Adelaide Sailing Club which provides an excellent opportunity for YA coaching with the Australian Optimist Sailing Team. We are also continuing the single day mini regatta format for our 3rd State Championships which will be held at Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club at the end of the season. The IODASA Opti Trailers will facilitate the transport of the YSA Optimists to and from the various venues. To view more information, visit the SA Regattas page.

The 2010 Australian & Open International Optimist Championships will be held at Adelaide Sailing Club, 6th - 10th January, 2010. Watch this space for more information as it becomes available.

On Saturday April 5th, 2008 Adelaide Sailing Club hosted the 2nd South Australian International Optimist Dinghy Championship. 12 competitors sailed 7 races in light conditions. The best 6 races counted towards final score.
